Chris Ellis

Chris was born in Liverpool, UK and attended the University of Leeds where he obtained a BSc (Hons) in Earth Sciences.

Chris is an experienced mining executive with over 50 years’ experience in geology, exploration, mine planning and project development inAustralia and overseas. He was a founding member and Executive Director of Excel Coal Limited which was the subject of a take-over bid by the US coal giant Peabody Energy Inc in 2006.

He has been a Director of AusQuest Limited since 1997 and is an Executive Director of Group 6 Metals (G6M), which are both listed on the Australian Stock Exchange. He is also a Non-Executive Director of Envirospheres Pty Ltd.

Chris is a passionate Liverpool F.C. supporter and enjoys fishing and travelling.

He set up the Rona Ellis Foundation in 2007 in memory of his late mother. The foundation provides grants to charities with a focus on children, poverty relief, the environment and animal welfare.
